Investigative report in our country has become a ready tool to give respite to the criminals. If the criminals have the boon of ruling party affiliation, they are not arrested forthwith as “It’s not right to punish someone before the charges are proved against him,” as it is rightly said by our Rail Minister Suranjit as he was asked about Faruq and Mridha from whose car 7 million cash was recovered. Actually the mindset is “It is not right to punish someone from the ruling party as they always think for the people.”
But in the case of others, Rapid action Battalion is very rapid and efficient. They then pounce on the real or imaginary criminals like the predatory animal with the full force of quick justice of so called cross fire.
It is very unfortunate that dizzying number of our valiant soldiers were killed and their female family members were violated at Peelkhana for two days and we did nothing to save them rather we saved the killer by a hazy investigation. We don’t know who were behind Romna Botomul and 21st August massacre either.
Investigative reports are formed as formalities, while the underground criminals go on their mission of dragging the county to dungeon. I wonder how long we will sling mud at each other and be at each other’s throats. Other nations are marching forward unhindered while we are busy destroying the destiny of teeming millions. Oh, woe is me!
