Cox’s Bazar, Jul 6 (bdnews24.com) – The bloggers of bdnews24.com have distributed relief material among the flood victims in Cox’s Bazar district.
They distributed essentials and cash money among some 78 disaster-hit families at Jhilanja union of the Sadar upazila on Friday.
Jhilanja union council Chairman Giasuddin Jikur, who was present during the distribution of relief materials, said some 4,000 houses were inundated by the flood waters in the union. “Flood occurs here almost every year due to silting in the Bakkhali canal.”
bdnews24.com blog moderator Ireen Sultana told reporters: “As Sultan Mirza, one of our bloggers, uploaded a post urging all to stand beside the flood-hit, other bloggers responded well. The relief material and cash has been distributed with their support.”
“We’ve also a plan to distribute relief goods among the distressed people in northern districts in the next 15-20 days,” she added.
bdnews24.com bloggers Dr Manjur Morshed, Hasan Bipul, Sharat Chowdhury, Emon and Sayeed Akib, and Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila UNO (upazila executive officer) Amir Abdullah Mohammad Manjur Karim were present during the relief distribution.
