“Electricity Problem” should get the TOP Priority of the Government.

Md.Zahidul Islam Milton | 27 April 2009 12:35 pm

“Electricity Problem” should get the TOP Priority of the Government. It can create so many issues which may hamper the success of the government. May refer to my earlier article on this page on the same issue dated 11th March’09 captioned by the “URGENTLY NEEDED DRIVE TO CUT ILLEGAL ELECTRICITY CONNECTIONS”, I want to reiterate that it’s very essential to find out the illegal connections urgently and to stop the subscribers illegal contract system with the electric line man. I would request the government to stop the uses of the Air-condition / Cooling machines at all levels for the time being to re-store the normal situation of this sector. Details…

Mahmud ur Rahman Chowdhury | 21 April 2009 3:59 am

Mahmud ur Rahman Choudhury

On 12 April, the PM while speaking to officials of the industries ministry instructed them to reopen all shut-down state-owned mills and convert them into profit making enterprises. Shortly thereafter, on 19 April, the AL government unveiled a bailout package for the entire economy to the tune of Tk. 3, 424 crorer. No doubt the PM and her government mean well but well-meaning intentions are just not enough to get industrialization going in Bangladesh; one has to understand the reasons behind the rise and fall of industries. What do you think if the wonderland park is run by the government, it will be maintained in good condition and with greater facilities? I don’t think so because publicly managed parks are mostly illegally occupied, ill-maintained and sources of corruption. But if these parks are leased to the private persons under proper leasing terms and monitored by watchdogs, these parks will serve the nation most. One can take thousands of examples from other countries how they run such parks. Taking the parks from illegal grabbers through the operation of the court is good but leasing on goods terms and conditions is not bad at all.
