May I draw the kind attention of the chairman of the ‘Information Commission’ as well as the ‘Public Service Commission’ of Bangladesh in order to know the number of ‘English Medium’ candidates of the 18th BCS examination (held in 1996-97) for keeping the civil service academic record in this regard which may helpful for the research students as well. Or else I was the single English medium candidate who passed the written examination of the 18th BCS examination. Need not to mention that Information act has been passed in Bangladesh and everyone has the right to know any particular data/information.
It may be added that “A total of 3295 (20.11%) of candidates appearing at the 18th BCS examination (held in 1996-97) got zero in English, even though some of them qualified for BCS posts.” [Human Resource Management in Bangladesh Civil Service: Constraints and Contradictions, [Dr. Noore Alam Siddiquee), International Journal of Public Administration, 1532-4265, Volume 26, Issue 1, 2003, Pages 35-60].
