Being a student of political science I am to write a few words about the historical political party of Bangladesh Awami League which have a glorious past since last six decades. What a shining past of this party where we can see that they have taken part in the language movement, they have built the movement against Pakistani military rules and autocracy, they have raised historical 6 points demand by the leadership of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, they have effectively participated in the mass -movement in 1969, they have participated in the general election in the united Pakistan in 1970 and won the majority but the then Pakistan rulers didn’t hand over the power to this historical political party under the direct leadership of the Bangabandhu. As a result the people of Bangladesh became united by the guidance and leadership of the Bangabandhu and they fought a brilliant fight against the brutal Pakistani military force and won the war and we have had a freedom land called Bangladesh. After the independence of Bangladesh this political party formed the government headed by the national hero Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman but this nation faced another struggle against the culprits who have killed the father of the nation in 1975 and wanted to vanish the politics of this historical party but they didn’t successful, and after 21 years this political party again formed the government in 1996 and ruled the country for five years successfully by the leadership of Sheikh Hasina the daughter of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Need not to mention further that at present again this political party has formed the government with the majority in the election held in 2009 in order to fulfil the nation’s demand as well as to build the DIGITAL BANGLADESH by the matured leadership of the daughter of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Hasina. This is very clear like day light that this party had to face serious struggle and oppression in the different time but they didn’t refrain from their democratic role and activity. We are now passing a very crucial moment in the country when this party has taken the power and to go a lot of journey of the development in the different sector of the public life. They have focused a lot of agenda in their election manifesto and no doubt the people will watch the same in an eagle eye. So, in the circumstances I would like to draw the kind attention of the party chief as well as the senior leaders to play a very glorious role in order to keep the name of this party in the heart of the people for a long time and to make a new history of the development during the tenure of this present government.
