Husband or hyena?

Md.Zahidul Islam Milton | 17 June 2011 7:19 pm

In reference to the recent brutalities suffered by Rumana, the teacher from DU and wife of Hassan Syed, I would like to say that he has crossed every possible limit for a human to follow. What we learnt from the victim while in her hospital bed is totally unbelievable and horrifying.
Hassan Syed
Supposedly an educated person, a BUET graduate, how can he act like this? Why should he be jealous of his wife’s shining prospects? He should have been thrilled with her brilliant success. A lot of women in our society supercede their life partner in the academic, professional or economical spheres. That doesn’t mean their husbands are socially shamed; they should feel proud of their success.

We are ashamed to see and hear this news. Hassan Syed chewed off her nose! I watch the Discovery channel and others where big cats and hyenas are always hunting gentle animals like deer and the same species but I must say the beasts never target to kill the prey by chewing the victim’s nose, they quickly rip out the throat. Here is the difference between Hassan Syed and these predators. Possibly Hassan Syed is a human hyena, a monster. No doubt he will be regarded as a symbol of monstrosity. We should publish his picture in all forms of print and electronic media, so that everybody can recognise this new beast in our society.

I hope the government and the concern authorities will investigate this hideous incident properly and issue capital punishment to make an example to others in the country so that women can sigh with relief that justice has been served. Being an international member of Amnesty International I would also request people to raise their voice against such brutality or it will not be stopped.
