Dhaka, Jun 13 (bdnews24.com) – The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University is going to move its outdoor unit to the northern side of the Cabin Block building.

Authorities say the relocation at a separate building will make the facility spacious while the Cabin Block will be able to offer more cabins for patients.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Pran Gopal Datta inaugurated part of the new construction on Wednesday.

He said the whole outdoor unit would be moved to the new site by September.

The process will start from this month, he said while opening 12 rooms of the proposed 48 rooms for the facility.

At least 3,500 patients receive treatment from Bangladesh's lone medical university's outdoor unit that charges Tk 30 for each visit.

The university recently started evening outdoor services where senior professors see patients for Tk 200 in consultancy fee.
