New Air Force chief gets his rank

Dhaka, Jun 13 (bdnews24.com)—Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari has been officially adorned with the badge of the Chief of Air Staff.

Army chief General Md Abdul Mubeen and Navy chief Vice Admiral ZU Ahmed adorned the badge to Bari in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a ceremony at her office on Wednesday morning.

Hasina congratulated the newly appointed Air Force chief.

She mentioned steps her government has taken to develop the armed forces, her Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told reporters.

The Ministry of Defence appointed Bari as the Air Force chief for three years on Jun 6, a media release from the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) said.

Bari was promoted to Air Marshal from Vice Marshal on Tuesday, a ministry gazette read.

The Prime Minister's Defence Affairs Advisor Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiqui, Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division Lt Gen Abdul Wadud, PMO Secretary Mollah Wahiduzzaman, Press Secretary Azad, Defense Secretary Khandakar Mohammad Asaduzzaman and PM's Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin were present, among others, on the occasion.
